Well the past 18 or so months have been something else, haven’t they? Life can throw enough curveballs without a pandemic added into the mix.
But, slowly, things are starting to move forward. That doesn’t mean the transition will be easy, though. Actually, it’ll be anything but that. Whatever the ‘new normal ‘ (anyone else getting fed up with hearing that phrase?) brings, we will all need a bit of help adjusting, be that from our friends and family, or our spiritual guardians.
Since my last episode of The 78 Arcana Podcast in June last year, I’ve been on a bit of a voyage of discovery, which is partly why I’ve been MIA. That journey has given me plenty to think about and learn, as well opening my eyes to what my identity truly is.
It’s a journey I believe I’ll always be on but that’s a good thing. In fact, it’s something I’m excited about, especially if the doors I’ve already opened are anything to go by, and even more so to share these with you, my readers and listeners.
This brings me to the second part of this article, reintroducing. My name is Sapphire. Sapphire River. Or, at least, that’s my craft name – something I’ve studied closely lately and which has connected with me on a deep level. Finding my craft name has already helped me become more receptive to the natural energy around me and tap into my abilities, whilst also enabling me to start piecing together what my true, authentic self looks like.
One day, I hope, I will be able to share what that is. What is becoming clear is that this blog and my podcast both have a huge part to play in getting to know myself. Discussing the tarot will still be one of my main intentions for the latter, but I have the feeling that there’s more it can cover, not least my pagan / wiccan lifestyle.
Which is why, moving forwards, I’ll be incorporating more of these into my blogs and episodes, in the hope that you, my lovely audience, will help you on your own path. Sharing my experiences also allows me to keep them close and live them wholeheartedly, making them all the more special.
And so we come to resetting. Resetting intentions in this case. When I started The 78 Arcana Podcast, it was my intention to educate and inform my listeners about the tarot. I’d like to include witchcraft, wicca, and paganism to that intention. While I’m still a way off coming out of the ‘broom closet’ so to speak – one of the new phrases I’ve picked up recently – I hope to challenge some of the misguided views that still exist around these topics.
My second intention is, perhaps unsurprisingly, to keep my platforms more up to date than I have been! I hope that I can shed some light on all aspects of my spiritual life, the good and the bad, so that you, reader, have an open account of the journey we’ll be on together.
Finally, I hope to build and be part of a community where people are able to learn from one another. I’ve been lucky to find some great creators and voices on social media recently, all of whom have given me ideas for where to take my own craft. Feel free to leave your own ideas and thoughts in the comments section of my blog posts, send me a message through the contact form, or connect on Instagram. In time, I’d like to create a discussion area where we can all come together in one place.
This is just the start of what I hope will be a fun and exciting journey, and one I look forward to walking with you. Until next time, stay kind, loving, and strong in these strange old times.
Blessed Be
Sapphire River
