Where the journey began
Back in 2013, during my university studies, I was feeling lost and unsure of my place in the world. As many now-graduates could probably testify, I had no idea where I was going after the conclusion of my degree, or what the path ahead had in store for me.
In amongst all of that confusion, I was also fighting an internal battle with depression. It was hard to find joy in anything; be that my studies, hobbies, or the freedom university should supposedly offer.
That’s when I was drawn to the tarot.
I’d long had an interest in topics such as the paranormal and spirituality. I found the stories associated with spirits and energies fascinating, but hadn’t truly explored my own spiritual beliefs. That is, until, the Rider Waite tarot deck called to me.
Through reading the cards and calling for their guidance, I learnt more about myself in a way that no lecture ever could. I was able to piece together what was causing me so much upset and hurt, putting my trust in the 78 cards, allowing myself to be open to their guidance. People often talk about ‘lightbulb moments’ in their lives; discovering the tarot was certainly one of those for me.
Fast forward to now and I still have that same deck and continue reading from it, though it has now been joined by five others!
And now, I’d like to share the journey with you. I can’t (and won’t) claim to have the answers, but hopefully I can help you on your own spiritual journey by sharing my experiences.
